I can’t even remember the last time I did this workout but I do remember that I was pumping out 30+ push-ups each set. This time, not even close. I think I may have gotten to the low 20′s in a couple of the sets.

Sunday, July 25th- Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Talk about sweating…!!! WOW. I have been doing the Insanity workouts for some time now so I knew what to expect, but the humidity has been really high lately causing me to sweat up a storm. There was a point when I was sweating so much that I had to pause the workout to dry off the floor. I was slipping all over the place and almost fell a few times.

Monday, July 26th – P90X Arms and Back

This has to be one of my more favorite workouts. There are not any pull-ups which is a big plus, but I really enjoy all of the bicep and tricep exercises. I learned my lesson from the first time I did this and didn’t push it too hard. I did just enough to fell the burn and experience a bit of muscle failure. Last time I pushed it way to hard the first week and was crazy sore! I was so sore I couldn’t even scratch my nose!

Tuesday, July 27th – Day off

I was will my boy the entire day and decided to take a day off. I must have burned a similar amount of calories chasing him around the entire day!

Wednesday, July 28th -P90X Legs and Back

It has been quite some time since I have done this workout, but as I began all I could think about is what my brother Andy had said to me last time we talked. Andy recently started the P90X and said that he feels sick to his stomach after the Legs and Back workout. I have to say that this is a tough one. I am still surprised that my brother and I can feel this tired from doing a bunch of exercises that really involve no extra weight. My legs should be really sore tomorrow. I am not looking forward to getting out of bed tomorrow.

Today was the P90X‘s chest and back workout. I write everything down for all of my workouts which helps me with my goals for the next weeks workouts. Today I managed to beat all of my push-up and pull-up numbers from the previous week. I only beat them by a rep or two but still. My chest and shoulders are pretty sore right now. I think tomorrow I will start Insanity.

Today I am restarting the P90X / Insanity workout challenge. For those of you who are new to my blog, abut six week ago I began this challenge and got about 17 workouts into it when pneumonia landed me in the hospital. So fast forward six weeks and here I am. I have been cleared by the doctor to resume “normal” life.

Some of you may be wondering if doing both workouts contributed to me developing pneumonia. I was wondering the same thing so I asked the doc. He said that it would be highly unlikely that this would occur. His exact words were that ” I would have to be beating myself into a pulp for this to occur.” Maybe I should have told him more about the workout…

I have decided to restart my workout adventure today. I am going to take it slow though. I have discovered that by not working out for 6 weeks, along with having pneumonia, has really set me back. I am really out of shape. I am going to begin by doing the P90X workouts for two weeks and then insert in the Insanity workouts. To insert the Insanity workouts I am just going to take out the P90X’s cardio workouts (plyometrics, yoga, kenpo x, and cardio x) and insert the Insanity workouts. I will burn around 1,000 calories more per week by doing this. I feel that I will get a completely ripped body by doing this workout for 90 days.

Check back tomorrow to see how my workout went!
