INSANITY Day 2 Post Workout <—-Video Blog

Today was my second day of INSANITY and my first real workout!! The plyometric cardio circuit was definitely really really tough! I thought about giving up a few times, but dug deep and pushed through the pain!! I really struggled with the ski abs and the level 1 drill, but I know the next time I do the plyometric cardio workout I will be that much better!

I was pretty sore to start the day after doing the fit test yesterday. Most of my soreness was in my back and hamstrings, and a little in the chest. I’m sure I will be just as sore if not more so tomorrow, but the workout actually helped to losen me up. I drank a protien shake immediately following my workout to give my body something to repair itself with, and now I plan on taking my dogs for a nice leisurely walk to really cool down! Other good news, I lost 3 lbs from yesterday to today!! That is definitely a big help to keep me motivated! I know it’s probably a lot of water weight and what not, but it was still nice to see! Well, I’ll be back to tell you about my next work out tomorrow!

“No matter how hard you train… Somebody will train harder. No matter how fast you run… Somebody will run faster. No matter how much you want it… Somebody will want it more. I am Somebody.”

Today’s workout was the P90x’s Kempo X workout. I have read in some people’s blogs that they really don’t like this workout and I have to say that you get what you put into it. First off it is a nice change of pace. There are completely different body movements compared to the other workouts. Also, I have found that if you wear hand weights that the workout is extremely intensified. I purchased Beachbody’s hand weights and have never regretted buying them. They don’t weigh that much, only .75 pounds each, but wearing those for an hour of punching and you will feel the difference for sure.

Today’s workout was the Insanity Max Cardio workout! This has go to be one of the toughest Insanity workouts yet! This one is about 10 minutes longer than the rest of the Insanity workouts and is much more intense. There are only two water breaks and one of them is after the stretching piece. This workout also had many new kinds of movements. The one that really made both my abs and chest burn was towards the end. I have no idea what Shawn T calls them put you get in a plank push-up position and hold it. Meanwhile you bring your right leg up to the side and touch your right elbow. Return your leg to the floor and then do the same with the other side. I think I did about 23 of these before my arms gave out. It hurt a ton but it was a good feeling to be challenged. Tomorrow I am back to the P90X and I believe it is the Chest and Back workout. See you tomorrow!
