My 3rd Week of P90X
I just finished my 3rd week of P90X and I feel pretty good. This is my 3rd time through the P90X and I still love it. The videos are getting a but boring but I am still using them in conjunction with the P90X workout sheets available for download with a free Beachbody account. I have issues finding time to workout after work each day so I have started to use the workout sheets instead of the DVD’s. The sheets have each of the exercises in the strength workouts listed. I can usually get my workout done in 40 minutes compared to the 55 it would take with the DVD.
After I finish up this round I am strongly considering purchasing MC2. MC2 stands for Muscle Confusion 2 and is basically P90X-2. MC2 looks pretty challenging and I am looking to change things up a bit.
I am also not sticking with the meal plan for now. I have given up alcohol which is great because I drank like a fish this past summer. I probably averaged at least a 12 pack a week and towards the end shifted to whiskey. I figure that I am saving around 2000 calories a week by doing this. Now if I could only stop eating my son’s cookies I would be all set.
The fourth week of the P90X is the recovery week and I plan on skipping it. It is really for people who are new to

Before the P90X I was never really into a recovery drink. I figured as long as I drank plenty of water I would be alright and for the most part I was. It wasn’t until I started the P90X that I really started to understand was being sore was all about. After my first week of P90X I was so sore that I could not even itch my nose! I couldn’t bend my elbow enough because my biceps and triceps were that sore!!! After about a day of this I decided that drinking water wasn’t enough and I decided to give the P90X recovery drink a try. It was a bit pricey but I quickly decided that it was worth it.
By the time I had received the recovery drink I could scratch my nose again, but I was still quite sore. After taking it I didn’t notice an immediate effect, but after four days of taking it after my workouts I noticed that my soreness began to decrease dramatically. I was and still am a very satisfied customer.
I also discovered that if you select home direct when ordering it Beachbody doesn’t charge you shipping and handling. When

8/8 – P90X Chest and Back- This is a very simple yet great workout. This workout is based on push-ups and pull-ups. Now you may be thinking that a bunch of push-ups and pull-ups are boring, but the trainer who leads the workouts, Tony Horton keeps your muscles guessing. He does this with 4 different styles of both push-ups and pull-ups.The workout left me feeling very sore the following day which let me know that the workout are working
8/9- Day off
8-10 – P90X Shoulders and Arms- I think this is my new favorite workout. Not only did it punish (in a good way)my biceps, but my shoulders were screaming for mercy by the end of the workout. This was my first time using my new Bowflex 552 dumbbells. With my first round of P90X I used the Beachbody resistance bands because dumbbells were just too expensive. The dumbbells gave me a different type of burn than the bands did. It almost felt like a deeper burn. They were a lot of money at first, but the quality and ease of use with these are amazing. I strongly recommend these.
8-11 Insanity- Max Interval Circuit I knew that the “Max” workout were tougher, but this one was just plane crazy. I was pumped when it first began because it was only 47 minutes long compared to 54 minutes with the other Max workouts. I really liked this workout because Shaun-T introduces some new exercise moves and
